I processed it with surround for headphones. This uses computational binaural encoding and gives 3D surround with ordinary stereo headphones.
If you’ve already downloaded the previous upload of this, I highly recommend replacing it, as that one was not directly encoded from Atmos. This new one will have better sound quality and has changed dialogue referencing the Philosopher’s Stone. I have deleted the old torrent so please delete and stop seeding if you still are.

Hi. Just to be clear, I feel like I downloaded about three versions of this same book so far and there are new ones coming out everyday: I downloaded Harry Potter, and the order of the Phoenix headphone surround which is also 2,7 gb as this file I think. Then I downloaded UK Dolby atmos mix that is 8:58 gb. Now there’s this one also UK da, how’s this one different, aren’t all Dolby atmos basically the same?

No one is forcing you to download anything.
I thought I’d explained this in the descriptions but it seems some people are hard-of-understanding.
The Dolby Atmos files are huge and require at the very least 5.1 speakers or Spatial Audio enabled headphones.
Not everybody has this equipment (including me) so I created the Headphone mixes (binaural stereo) so I and anyone else who downloads them can listen to the surround versions without special equipment. Otherwise we would all be stuck with plain old stereo.
As explained above, the previous one was not directly encoded from Atmos. This new one will have better sound quality and has changed dialogue referencing the Philosopher’s Stone.
My most humble grovelling apologies is this offends you in any way. I’m sure if you make a fuss someone will refund your purchase price.

I noticed that you mentioned the “UK version.” Are the differences between the UK and US versions similar to those between the original versions narrated by Stephen Fry and Jim Dale—where some words differ based on American English (Scholastic) and British English (Bloomsbury)?

The ONLY difference between the UK & US versions is the change from Philosopher to Sorcerer.
EVERYTHING else is identical to the UK print.
I’m still waiting to get my hands on the Atmos file. Have heard from iTzNiKo and he is hopeful that it will arrive some time in the next week.
When it does arrive I will upload the full Atoms the same day & the headphone mix a couple of days after that.

It has chapters. Try playing it with a different player. I use Foobar2000 for PC or Apple Books on my phone.

TheLastAirbender’s is a 5.1 mix-down of the Dolby Atmos version - therefore the height effects are incorporated into the 6 channels.
The Dolby Atmos versions still have the 5.1 channels, but the height effects are intact if you have Atmos speakers.

@prettyrandom - are you re-processing these Atmos versions at all, or are they the raw files from source? I’d like to handle the transcode to stereo myself so I can control the settings, so I’m looking for the original untouched source files.

They are unaltered. Dolby Atmos is proprietary code so you need expensive Pro Audio Studio software to save anything in that format.

Not exactly true. You can listen to Dolby Atmos through regular headphones by using Dolby Atmos for Headphones or a free alternative called HeSuVi which virtually simulates many different kinds of surround sound, including Atmos
As for Atmos itself, its main selling point is that it can work flawlessly be it on stereo or most complex systems with many, many different channels. How? It uses virtual sound sources. Basically, it encodes data that simulates space and each channel is separate sound source with it’s worn position, movement and what not, in that 3D space. After that’s all done, all that needs to be done is to play it on a Dolby supporting device. If you have stereo, it’ll simulate surround through movement and different noise levels and will allow it to be played pretty accurately, even if all you have is headphones. Similarly, if you have a 5.1, 7.2 or whatever else, all that is being done is that you are adding more ‘ears’ in that 3D spaces which will act as outputs for what can be ‘heard’ from that particular place in the 3d space
This explanation is simplified and sort of lackluster, so better yet, go and check out Dolby Atmos channel visualizer, it should click right away.
And, all of this is to ask, do you have Dolby Atmos files for all the books so far? if so, please publish them, some of us would really appreciate to have originals and listen to them through the means I mentioned :)

Alas, have heard nothing for over a week. If that changes I’ll upload the full Atmos version straight away, but as time goes on, I fear it’s less likely.
It seems TheLastAirbender might be our only hope. They uploaded 6 channel mix-downs recorded from Atmos of books 3 to 5 but not, as yet for book 6.
