quite the improvement Jeremy Bentham’s Panopticon construction/architecture Principle = it was actually built, and one-upped = the voyeur’d consented on the dotted line to being monitored, through every possible medium on all aspects of their lives. :)

Just heard this one praised on the Arms Control Wonk podcast.* Granted, the articles feature their group of friends — and open-src analysis is the specialty of the main AC Wonker — but obv they think these Economist articles cover this new area of study very well.
* FYI: the particular podcast episode was one about Biden administration (and obv Trump!) f*cking up in dealing w Iran via JCPOA (or not), thus leaving our world w a nuclear-weaponized Iran in the not-too-distant future. Due American idiocy, and now Biden’s timidity and short-sightedness, Iran will likely end up with unacknowledged ‘bombs in basements’ to utilize as a nuclear deterrent/leverage. And yet it could be prevented if the U.S. were smarter and more realistic (and thought less like a colonial power?!)
